For a Crash reboot to stand a chance of been good, it needs to be developed by Naughty Dog and Activision won't allow that because for it to be developed by Naughty Dog it would need to be exclusive to PS4, and while Activision might be in Sony's camp right now, I don't see them putting money into a game that isn't going to be multi-platform.
The only way I see this happening is if Sony buys Crash from Activision, but let's be honest coming off the back of the Uncharted Saga and The Last of Us, do we really think Naughty Dog would want to go backwards and work on Crash again? I doubt it, Jak maybe, but not Crash.
