I just saw the recent article and Im a little worried now that this could completely ruin Sony (Well, more-so the Playstation). I love my PS3 way more then any other system I've had and It would be a sad day for me if this incident caused major problems for the PS3 or any next generation Playstation console.

Not at all, it may take some time for their image to be restored.

It won't 'ruin' Sony or the Playstation brand for that matter. Playstation is known globally for quality hardware and games, software, maybe not so much. Once this mess is sorted out and everything will be fine.

No. Just 12 year olds who can't play online for a bit and smug 360 gamers will hold it over Sony forever, while trying to point out flaws in the system.

Micro$oft is probably breathing a sigh of relief that its Sony and not them that got hit, with MS's track record you can bet there are some holes in their system you could drive a whole TEAM of hackers through, along with a small Winnebago.

Not at all, I can live a few weeks without PSN. I'm just hoping they are going to secure it much better.

It won't RUIN or destroy them, but this is a MAJOR issue, this is HUGE although it might not feel like it to most people. Information leak and financial leak of customers is a major issue and a serious security failure. They are also suspectible to court cases if this is not resolved soon.

Nah, Sony's a tough cookie, it shouldn't affect them much, many lesson's will be learnt from this though.

You won't see them go out of business, but they'll have some bad stigma and distrust from alot of people for a long time. As long as they get the PSN/Qriocity back up and most imortantly avoid any further attacks, I think they'll get past this dark chapter.

Not ruin, but it's a massive blow to Sony. And unfortunately mostly the result of a lack of foresight in their security.

Yes, While this may not be 100% Sony's fault, alot of their users will be put off buying from them in the future.

While it's a huge PR nightmare, Sony and PlayStation obviously took a rocket to the nuts, I don't think it's going to destroy them. The trust might be destroyed but other than that I can't see this as the death of PlayStation.

From what I'am hearing sonys Network security was near enough completely open to attack it thats true it could cost Sony dearly.
