I am about to throw in my hard-earn $7XX for a ps3, can someone help me to choose between 40GB, 60GB and 80GB? and what accessories should i get?

A little brief info about myself: I am an average gamer, can only afford no-more-than 10 hrs gameplay per week. Usually play FF and ROTK series and some action games like Dynasty worriors and DDR. If there's another Ecco the Dolphin I'll probably get too. Don't plan to download movies to it, but may transfer some mp3 there. That's about it.

Help pls~ thx!

yes 60 gig is BC if you can find it. either at a store, though doubtful, or ebay. also just look at gamespot's ps3 hardware resource center and compare. just click on the ps3 section.

yes the 60gb can play ps1 and 2 games. i think the only difference is the hard drive size and the EEchip in the 60 gb vs. software emulation in the 80gb

Thats if you can find them. They did away with the 60gb and 80gb. They no longer make them. Right now there is only the 40gb ps3.

Unless you are using Ebay or Amazon or something the 40 GB is the only one available in stores atm, but if you can find the 60 GB it can play all PS2 and PS1 games..the 40 GB cannot do the PS2 games :| and the 80 GB has 2 extra USB ports and heres a link to show which games it is compatible with: www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus ...i have the 80 GB..and that link is very helpful.

Your best bet however is just to wait on the 120 GB which will be fully backwards compatible with all of the accessories on it for the same price as the 80 GB one atm..but you'll have to wait another month or so..its up to u.

Well, if you have ps2 games, then 40 gig is a waste because it has no backwards compativility, and its much easier to just pop in the ps2 game, then hoooking up another system (ps2), other than that its alright unless you have TONS of music, then you want the 80 gig (but i mean TONS)
