can i play ps1 games (actual discs, not from psn) on my 120gb ps3?

i want to play one of my ps1 games that are not available on the psn, and i was wondering if i can play the game?

ALLLLL of them.for some reason though,ps2 games need a 20,60,or 80 gig ps3.if you want to get old ps1 games they is less than 3 bucks on amazon
