Buying a game for my friends PSN account using my PS3.

Can I use my own PS3 to log onto my friends account with his username/password and buy him a game as a gift? Or will that make my PS3 the default system for the game i'm trying to buy him?

It would be in his download history...And on your ps3 . So when he signed on his PSN at his house he could DL it.
