I've been hearing Borderlands has awsome co-op, and I'm just wondering if it's worth buying or if it gets boring in a week. Do you think I should just go ahead and buy it or is it best to rent Borderlands? (I love RPG's btw)

I don't like being lonely...jk, but how does playing with random people work, like do you just walk around and do missions.
Also, thank you everyone for posting, its' very helpful :D
its drop in drop out... so the games are always populated.. max 4 play co-op.. you can do selected co-op if you wanna do it with friends instead of strangers... very fun either wayMethodManFTW
Cool, thanks man :). When do you think would be a good time to start co-op, like after you beat a few missions?
Sorta. You can drop in or out of a game whenever you want and you just do quests together or hunt for weapons or anything else. It's fun to play with random people, but it's the most fun if you have a friend or two/three who all have headsets. It also has split-screen for up to 2 players. That's what me and my little brother do all the time.
But how the online works is there are zones in the game and all the players have to be in that one zone. If one person initiates travel, then everybody goes to the new zone. The zones are all pretty big though so even though you're all in the same zone you could easily be in different areas. The difficulty scales with each joining player though so you're going to have to work together if you're going to do some of the quests. Even though it gets harder the more people that join, it pays off because the more people that join, the better the weapons that drop are.
There's more stuff I could add, but that's the very basics. It's a ton of fun and I can't recommend it enough :D
That's just because at launch there were a few glitches in the PS3 version that weren't present in the 360 version. But all of that has been fixed so you'll have no problems enjoying the game.I'm just wondering if the 360 version is better since it got a higher score

I think its a rent. Unless you have friends to play with its basically like playing an MMORPG without other people to interact with and all you can do is quest.
After about the first 5 hours youll realize that all the missions are pretty much the same and its just a rehash of the same old stuff over and over.
Been playing the hell out of this and i am up to level 26.Will probably play through again in co-op.
Uncharted 2 is so linear and took me three days to finish so maybe that should have been a rent.
I immensely enjoyed the solo game, layouts of missions make them very different and have to use different strategies
For me the MP was broken as the loot is not managed : first one gets it, which makes it stupid for a game where loot is so important
^ Ya, I know what you mean. I don't like to rent games and then have to buy them, so I think I should probally buy it cause most likely I'll enjoy it...hopefully 8)
I say "buy it." It was one of my favorite games of last year and even if you skip the DLC, it has strong replay value,
For me it was a game you play for a few hours, put it down for a few days, play it again for a few hours, etc. instead of being addicted to it for 15 hours straight and then putting it on the shelf and never looking at it again.
It's a fun game to play with friends, so I'd recommend buying it or at least waiting until it goes down in price and buying it.
good luck renting it. ive been trying to get it since its release for either 360 or ps3. people get it and keep it all month
It's a must buy.Peabody99224It most definitely isn't. It has been marketed well, but the game is pretty average as you play through, and then there is no endgame to speak of, which kind of happens to be the point of loot-centric games.... and don't get me started on the hex editing.
