Armored Core 4.

Is Armored Core 4 a good game to consider buying. I will be recieveing a Ps3 in about a week. This game seems interesting and affordable. I just want to know your own experiences with the game, and also please understand that it will be my first PS3 game.

Or would you recommend one of the most recents such as Uncharted, except it's more expensive.

I've played most of the AC games. As a fan, it's definitely a step up in almost every way... except for online play. From Software really screwed it up, making it literally impossible to search for games. Instead of a list with the number of users in the match, and the ability to get "on deck" to join an empty spot when the current match is over, you just have to choose what kind of match you want to join and try over and over until a match is over and you can join. This sort of thing works great for the 1 on 1 matches, but for everything else, it sucks. It's impossible to find matches and since you are randomly assigned a match, you could end up with one other person in a 4 vs. 4 or 7 others in a 4 vs. 4 match... you never know.

Now the single player? Awesome. But if you're going into this series for the first time and are expecting Robotech or Gundam, you'll be sorely disappointed.
