anyone getting the announced 499$ sony 3D screen ?

i already have a 46" 3D sony tv but this one is so cheap that i seriously consider getting it for my second lan-party ps3 which is currently hooked up to a ol'CRT tv , anyone else planning to get it ? considering id get resistance 3 anyway its even cheaper for me minus the price of that game , and that newsplit screen feature is looking very interresting , hope they make a FW upgrade for the existing sony 3DTVs to enable that feature

Depends how good that TV is. The price seems too good for a 3D TV.

This actually looks pretty interesting, especially the splitscreen thing. What size is that tv for that price? Although I very much doubt it would be anywhere near that good price (if they even sell it at all) in rip off Ireland >:(Yo-gan

I'd like to check out some games in 3D, but I really have no interest in waching movies in 3D. For $500, it's kind of tempting. But 24" is pretty small, and I'd have to buy another PS3 to use it (I'm not disconnecting my PS3 from my 32" TV to plug it into a 24" TV, even if it is 3D), so that's a total of $800. A little expensive for me.

Well most 24" monitors are like $150-$200...

Most 24" 120+hz monitors (ie: 3D) are like $300-$400...

But this also includes a TV Tuner (only 24" monitors I know of with that are from Samsung and they are $350, and have no 3D) and the TV tuner means you can do just that, watch TV on it, something you can't do on a plain monitor...

And it has that split screen stuff, which is pretty neat if you play a lot of split screen multiplayer... I for one do not, so that feature is entirely useless to me, but it is still neat having two separate screens be shown on a single monitor for two different people...

Not to mention it comes with a $60 game and their $70 glasses...

So it seems at the very least like an adequate deal...

This screen is one of the things which impressed my during the conference. It looks good and is reasonably priced.

Its definitely a good deal, but I'm not into 3D.

Nope. I have a 55 inch 3D tv at the moment that does the job just fine.

It is kinda nice. But 3D gaming is not a huge priority for me. Plus the $500.00 will be going to PSvita system/Memory stick/headphonesand games. Sony will get $500 but not for that TV

if i had the extra cash id get it. im excited for 3d mostly just for gaming not so much movies or tv. cuz when i play i got the mic on and am totally into the game so wearing glasses would not bother me. and you know all sony exclusive will have 3d so it seems worth it. besides the money issue ive never seen how good a 3d tv is and if i like the effect but have hear good things online.

It's tempting but I own a HDTV already but not a 3D tv. If it was bigger I would buy it.

i might get it i mean im using a 23 inch monitor and have a 26 inch TV and i am looking for a new one so the size isnt really a problem for me i just want to know if the 3D can be turned off or on

The price is right, but I recently got a 32 inch Bravia, and that's been working fine for me in terms of quality. I'll get a 3D tv once glasses are no longer needed.
