Just thought I'd rant a bit to the PS3 community here...

Just a little about my situation...work in IT, married for 3 years, and a new born son.

30 years old, who then goes to the gym after work...get home, have dinner with the wife, then have to kick the kid around so he has a father...

Next thing I know, it's 11pm, and it's close to bedtime, and I barely get any gaming in anymore! I usually play games only on Sat/Sun, and even those are limited.

*sigh*...I'm sure everyone else has a similar story...whether it's with school, significant other, or kids...but I miss the days of playing games until 2am on a school/work day :(

AND...with all these great games coming out...i am missing out...I have them, but can barely play them. I need a job that lets me play games for a living :).

Tell me about it. I can usually get maybe 30 minutes to an hour every other night and maybe 2 hours on Saturday. It kind of sucks, but I have a wonderful life and family, so it's not too bad.

I created a similar thread just minutes ago. Though not as specific as you. I am on the same boat. There are so many titles out right now. It's a guaranteed 10000 hours in them combined. I don't even have a clue of how I can manage my time to play these games. What makes it more crazy is that virtually all of them are AAA rated, technically efficient games.

They should hurry up with the cloning technology, that way we could have a slave clon that goes to work while we stay playing video games at home.

Yeah, there's just so many great games and not enough time. I'm 30 and between work and spending time with my wife it's tough. Usually I can find some time on the weekends, but I have season football tickets to my college team and that keeps me very busy so right now I feel like I hardly have any time for gaming. I've got LBP, Fallout 3, and Deadspace sitting at home and have hardly touched any of them, plus I'm picking up Resistance 2 next week.

I think I may have to use a few "sick" days to really get some quality gaming in lol.

I hear you between my girlfriend, finishing up my seior year at college, setting up my job for after college, and all related activities (i play in a band and like to spend time with my family) i barely have time to sit down and enjoy great games like LBP. The way i see it though it saves me money this way because games now last longer. It took me over a month just to complete the story of MGS4 and usually previous MGS games took me like a week or two. I just got LBP and i figure to get Resistance 2 and Valkyria Chronicles and have that last me well into next year.

I'm overwhelmed bro. I pretty much shot myself in the foot when I told all my real life friends and gamespot friends that I'll be buying every new big hit title day one. I was WRONG. I thought it over and there's no point of me hoarding games, buying them at day one prices when I should just buy and play one game at a time. By the time I get to the other games, the prices will drop and I could save myself some cash. It's the most practical and logical approach. But now it seems, I've only purchased Dead Space.. and I'm almost done with that. In a week, Gears of War 2 will release, and I'm buying that day one, no questions asked. GOW2 will occupy me for 2-3 weeks, and many weeks after that for multiplayer action. When I get over that, I'll buy Fallout 3.. and work my way from there. Perhaps, I'll rent some games, who knows. I just end up selling them anyways, so I might as well rent.

haha my problem is that I have school, 2 jobs and a girlfriend (who likes games also) but we dont kill our time with each other by playing games, usually. But the main problem for me is that I have so many games and so many systems to choose from when it comes times to sit down and play, I cant decide what to play! Plus the time to play is also very short so I usually dont have time to get into the game anyways

You guys are fortunate though. Less time for videogames means you're spending it in more productive places. I wouldn't care one bit if I didn't play videogames for two weeks if it was because I was doing something that would help me or someone else in the longer run.

I would give up my PS3 to have a new-born son/daughter.

I work 5 days a week, I have two days off but I'll be lucky to have a gaming time of 5 hrs a week, the worst thing is when my girlfriend starts nagging and dont want me to play playstation, she hates video games, I hope little big planet could change her views about video games...

Here's an idea. How about some days you take off from working out at the gym and go straight home and play some games. I know your kid is a too young to play but eventually your kid can play with you and that can count as being a father. Buy a handheld, play it on your break or whatever. But then again, I'm not a kid anymore too and I understand your problem. The thing is, if you really enjoying and appreciate gaming that much, you'll find a way to play them. I don't think anybody on the planet is ever really too busy for a little anything regardless of their busy schedule as long as they find a way to enjoy the thing that makes them happy. So chin up, the game isn't over.

Just be sure to keep a functioning system in storage and the game alongside it, then when the kiddos are grown up and your retired you have all the time to play :)

Ah yes, I could just see some old guy playing Dead Space and having an Active MI right there... what a way to go.

Im 15, and to be honest I dont have a lot going on. My schedule Monday through Friday consists of going to school and heading to the weight room right after. This makes me get home at around 5. I always get my homework done, and dont even get a lot of it. I also have a job, but state law says since im only 15, during the school year I can only work for 2 and ahalf hours after school during the week and then on the weekends I can work as many hours as I want. But, because of that law my job doesnt really interfere. Once baseball starts in the Spring, I wont have a lot of time cause we have practice or games everyday after school and usually wont get home till close to 7. On the weekends, im usually working or out with my friends. I'll usually get a lot of gaming in when im home at night bored as hell. Otherwise, during the day im out doing things.

Video Games can be good when your busy - Im currently studying for my finals in my professional accountancy qual - so from about 7am-6pm Im tied up commuting and working - then 7pm-930pm im studying in the library - then I just sneak an hour of gaming in before bed.

If I wasnt studying I'd be out socialising and probably wouldnt have time then!

I am 35, single, and rarely have time for gaming. When you gotta work, clean house, laundry, cook supper for youself, the hours fly by. The bad thing about the time factor is that games are time sensitive entertainment. I can not enjoy the games I bought 10 years ago because the graphics are so horrible. Try playing the first Medal of Honor. lol

I still have tons of last gen Xbox games that I never got around to playing. Quite a few from last year. Assassin's Creed is still new in the wrapper. lol I paid 60 bucks for it, and I could get the same thing now for 20 bucks. Right now, I am slogging through Tales of Vesperia, determined to beat it before moving to the next. Then I have:

SW Force Unleashed

Brother in Arms

Infinite Undiscovery

Metal Gear Series

Crisis Core

Dead Space

Saint's Row 1 and 2

Far Cry 2

Fallout 3

Almost makes me wish I was born a lot later in life. When I was growing up, I probably beat 80% of the NES library, and those games are total crap compared to today's titles.

I totally agree with you...I feel like crap since I can't keep up with my friends about playing the newest games..but at the same time when I come home from school I never feel like playing a game since it takes a lot of time sometimes to get into things.

I usually prefer to surf the web or maybe listen to some music with the tv on in the background. That's just me I guess.

Well i can see my self in your shoes when i hit thirty but i just hit 21.

I work a FT job in IT and a lot of overtime is avail so of course i take the extra cash when i can. I play semi pro football...nationals this week so its my last week of practice and playing on saturday. Between work and football i prolly get in 12hrs of gaming on the 5day week. figure about 2-3 hours a day if that. Like today i work 8-430 ima get home settle in and prolly by 7 i'll start gaming. If i am lucky i'll get started that early. But when football is over i am going to be back in the gym and then in jan i am trying to go to college @ night. PLus i want to start taking certification classes and stuff as well. I seen someone else post about hoarding games and i just has an epiphany. It does make sense to wait a while before buying games. I have some still in plastic, on all 3 systems check the sig lol. It sucks and i cant wait to get that extra hour of sleep in my life...or maybe when we turn the clocks back ima make it the extra hour of gaming lol. Oo and let me say my Son is due in DEC so yea no partying/gaming is visible in my future.

i know that from time to time. its especially hard when you have a family. Im having a hard time sometimes and i only have a gf who i don't even live with. sometimes gaming means sacrificing sleep once in awhile. or have a little alone time that you should schedule for yourself in between those things. or do what i do...wake up @ 5 am and game til 6-30 before getting ready for work

Same here. Once you're married that is almost the nail in the cauffin, I don't want to imagine how awful life would be with a kid (I hope I'm sterile so that will be an easy way out).Even if the wife is out for a while, you just know there could be a call any minute or if even if she goes to sleep, the guilt just kills you to not be there. Pick up and play games are difficult to enjoy and god forbid any game with substance that you would want to get heavily deep into the atmosphere and world. Survival horror is hands down my favorite genre and Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I haven't even bother trying to play the following Silent Hills, Fatal Frames, Rule of Rose, Siren New Translation (screw Blood Curse) etc etc- I still have to own them though.

Anyways, this is one of two reasons I'm considering selling my factory sealed, 2 year warrantied 60gb PS3 on eBay soon and then my MGS4 80gb next year. Maybe I should wait til next year for the 60gb hmmm... no one will have them new with warranty by then.
