I like the old school dungeon crawlers hack and slash games. Does the ps3 have any. I might end up buying sacred 2 back. I played that when it first came out. Looks like it's the only one....Any suggestions?

Demons Souls.... Kidding, that game is DEFINITELY not Hack n Slash. It puts that entire genre to shame. Get it if you like combat that takes skill.

Well. Sacred 2 is the only one I can think of. Have you played Champions of Norrath on PS2? Those games were great. Snowblind, who made those games, is making a LOTR game which will very likely be the same in how it plays, just in a different universe. I'm actually looking at that, could be great.

oh i loved those games. But i'm look at the new LOTR games. I'm just so sick this whole 'Action-RPG' genre. Where its like a rts game now. I missed the good ole fashion pure turn based games and the pure hack n slash games. Not this a little bit of both.....

I miss when games came as 4p split screen as standard, with that and LAN being the whole point of multiplayer, not online. Thank god that Twisted Metal is supporting split screen, I believe 4p.

I don't know about crawlers but hack n slash there is Force Unleashed, Ninja Gaiden Sigma1 &2, GoW series, Devil May Cry series, Bayonetta(listed in ascending order in terms of my opinion). For crawlers many people enjoy phantasy star online series and if you have a BC PS3 PSU is pretty good even if it's offline for PS2 now. I wasn't a fan of sacred and I don't think those are the type of hack'n slash you are looking for.

X-men legends might be what your looking for. It's for PS2. Or Marvel ultimate alliance for PS3. I never played Marvel yet, but I think it's the same as the X-men games, just with various Marvel characters instead of X-men.

Never played it, but I was looking into Dynasty Warriors, that might be what your looking for too.

Would 'Golden Axe: Beast Rider' be of interest? In terms of game mechanics, it keeps true to the originals, but places them into a 3D world.

'Dante's Inferno' is another game which springs to mind. Then, there's 'Conan the Barbarian.' Both titles kinda borrow from the God Of War series.

I'll throw Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires on this list, although if you want to hit more than one button, I probably wouldn't recommend it

Heavenly Sword. The most underrated game on the ps3 imo. If the game were a tad longer, itd be in the same pantheon as gow and dmc.

I'll suggest Nier. It's an open-world hack n slash, as opposed to the typical linear type. It ain't particularly hard on normal difficulty, so if you want a challenge, I'd suggest going Hard. There are a lot of mindless side-quest, some of which you might never want to do. But some are pretty straight-forward, and the rewards you get tend to be either weapons or money, which you can then buy more weapons with. I know GS gave it a 5.0, but I had quite a lot of fun with it. It probably isn't the best hack n slash out there, and I wouldn't call it a dungeon crawler exactly (dungeons aren't all that long), but I still liked it, probably even more than the typical hack n slash out there that get a lot of praise.

I couldn't get over not being able to block in sacred 2. It seemed like such a step back from Dark Alliance & Champions. How do you edit your post on these forums ?

There's plenty of them, I think it's unlikely you've played everything.

What about Untold Legends: Dark Kingdoms? (I think that's what it is called).
