Any good co-op hack n slash?

PS3 seems to be lacking in the co-op hack n slash or dungeon crawl type games.

I am looking for some games that the family can play together. They both seem to like games such as baldur's gate 1&2 for PS2. Other than dungeon hunter alliance which was nothing special, I can't seem to find others like baldur's gate. Any suggestions?

Sadly, nobody seems to make those sort of games anymore. As far as co-op hack-n-slash games are concerned, you're limited to stuff like the Dynasty Warriors series, Castle Crashers (more of a side-scrolling beat 'em up than a proper hack-n-slack or dungeon crawler), Dungeon Siege III, Hunted: The Demon's Forge, and Lord of the Rings: War in the North (which was developed by Snowblind Studios, who were responsible for Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath and Champions: Return to Arms). Of those, War in the North is probably closest to what you might be looking for. It's sort of a cross between Dynasty Warriors (a third-person, 3D hack-n-slash) and the old Baldur's Gate/Champions games (with leveling, skill trees, and loot).

You're asking for a difficult combination (co-op, hack n' slash and family) There aren't many games like that. You can try giving Trine 1 or 2 a go, it's the closest thing I can think of. For me it feels like a combination of LBP and The Lost Vikings. I recommend checking it out.

Dungeon Siege III is pretty fun with other players.
