i'm guessing the next-generation should arrive around 2011. Seems like the graphics card industry is advancing faster than before now. It's industry as a whole is already 2 generations ahead of the RSX.

If I'm not mistaken the last console generation spanned 4 graphics card generations (from Geforce 3 to 7)

consoles usually last 5 years max

xbox will probably come out with a new one in 2 years

but ps3 is just getting started so just kick back and enjoy the ride

Depends on your definition of "lasted". There's usually a 5-5.5 year gap between generational launch dates. (5.5 year between PS1 and PS2, and 5.5 years between PS2 and 360 etc)

I think i read somewhere that the next thing on Sony's mind is the new PSP which they are going to try to refine into a portable ps3 pretty much.

i was reading a newspaper about future technology and they were talkin about in a decade or so tv and video games will be in 3-d and a projection screen would project an image in the center of your living room kinda like starwars where r-2 d-2 records princess laia. if so, playing video games will be more realistic than ever in the future.

lol why do i have a feeling FPS and horror games might be all that popular by than.... having monsters or terrorists jumping out at you in 3D constantly will probably freak alot of people out.

PS4 and Acid trips will go hand in hand....
