All PS3s now PS2 compatible?

I heard there was a download in PSN that allowed the new PS3s to play PS2 games, is this true?

I haven't heard anything but it seems to me if b/c compatibility was as easy as a download from psn they would've done it a long time ago.

No it is not.That Download is for the PS3 consoles that can already play PS2 titles[20,60 and original 80 gig].The download is for PS2 titles that used the PS2 harddrive before.Final Fantasy XI and Everquest.The update DOES NOT make your PS3 B/C with PS2 titles.K1LLR3175
