A better looking PS4

I came across this & thought, this could have been a better looking ps4... not bland but classy.

This design in the top picture could have still have been slanted, with the vertical line running straight down the top of the console emitting the light. Not to mention getting rid of the '4K' logo on the top of course lol.

But certainly the top picture looks a lot classier. I like the piano black material they have their. And the Sony logo looks more pronounced. Even the PS4 logo in the bottom picture should have been embossed with white colour accents.

This would certainly have made for one super looking console. Just my thoughts. What do you reckon?

Idc what it looks like i dont look at it while i play games, if i had to choose though i prefer the bottom one. The top one is featureless its just a square and the gloss is a finger print magnet, i appreciate the two tone and angles of the ps4.

My favorite consoles aesthetically (not game wise) are nintendos. the snes, gc , wii and wiiu are all just....pleasing to look at and hold especially my memories of carrying the gamecube to my buddies dorms with the handle on the back

I can empathize with the notion of not caring what the console looks like in favour of what it can actually do.

Although I simply created this topic as an exercise to indulge my thoughts into how the design may have possibly been improved & see what others thought.

The design in the top picture can certainly be adjusted to closer match the ps4 design if people should wish. The slant could be incorporated into the design as well the light streak running across the top of the console.

Perhaps even some form of metallic plastic to cover the top instead of the gloss plastic (so as to avoid to finger prints).

These would just be some of my hypothetical wishes though

Hire some Italians to design the PS5, only the design.

Also the pic of the all mighty PS4 at the bottom is not as good quality as the top image. So it's not a valid/fair comparison really.

I disagree OP. The Ps4s current design looks better than that pic you posted....way better.

The current PS4 looks way better. The other one is so simple and plain looking. Nobody wants an all gloss system. I rather have a mix of gloss and matte.

The problem is the PS4 is very liked as it is & it's selling like crazy. Plus the top pic is very smooth & plain. The PS4 has style.

@vpacalypse: To be honest do you really care as long as it works? Xbox One looks like the most generic piece of tech out there. But people still buy, not because how it looks

I mean is there anything of any console that actually sticks out or looks pretty? The only console that looks ok is the N64. Everything else is just functional

I actually agree, i don't really think any of the others look that impressive. That and N64 are my favorites when it comes to design

That top PS4 looks like it was made in illustrator. I'd still pick the stock PS4, it has a great look to it on my shelving and I'm a fan of the non-glossy appearance.

The dreamcast and original PS2 also had alot of character.

The PS4 sits in my entertainment system under my TV, barely noticeable when not on. Who cares what it looks like? Does it do everything else the way it's supposed to? Yes. It could be hot pink and neon green for all I care.
