Hi. I am looking for some 16 bit game compilations to buy for my PSP. I am not interested in emulating downloaded versions from limewire or where ever. By '16 bit' I mean games that were for the Sega megadrive (Genesis in the US) etc etc. I already have the sega megadrive collection and ea-replay. Games like streets of rage etc. Early 90s you know?

So, Anyone know of any collections/compilations???

Midway, CapCom, and Konami all have arcade collections. See that 'Search' bar up there? Works great.

If you're looking for personal recommendation, the Konami is the best. "Space Invaders Extreme" is great, even if you're only looking for straight-up ports of 80s & 90s titles. Williams also just put out a pinball collection, if you're into that.

If you're a stickler for quality, I'd avoid the Midway compilation. It suffers from poor emulation and slow-down, especially in the Mortal Kombat games. Here's a list of all the PSP compilations I'm aware of:

Activision Hits Remixed

Atari Clas.sics Evolved

Capcom Clas.sics Collection Remixed

Capcom Clas.sics Collection Reloaded

EA Replay

Gradius Collection

Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play

Namco Museum Battle Collection

SNK Arcade Clas.sics Vol. 1

Sega Genesis Collection

Taito Legends Power Up

If you're looking for personal recommendations, I'd go with the Capcom collections. They're well-emulated and have some nice incentives and unlockables. SNK Arcade Clas.sics is nice also, but suffers from terrible load times.

Ahh, I forgot about those. I picked up Castlevania just to play Symphony of the Night. Aside from the obnoxious way that you have to unlock it, it was totally worth it. I was going to pick up the Capcom Puzzle Collection, but it got pretty rough reviews. Darkstalkers wasn't bad, but I much prefer Street Fighter Alpha 3, especially now that the D-Pad works so much better on the PSP-2000.
