Like he said you need a wireless router connected to the modem which is connected to the cable(high speed internet)

The router sends the signal, the built in wifi receivs the signal, when you get your ps3 you have to go to connection settings and set if for wirelss, the rest should be automatic

Well, right now, I think that theres something seriously wrong with the internal device that hooks up my PS3 to the internet. Just recently, I've BARELY been able to log onto the Playstation Store. I've tried moving the PS3 to a different part of my room. Manually rebooting the PS3. I even bought a brand new network adapter. And yet still, theres no change. Offline gameplay is uneffected. I can play offline games perfectly. But whenever I try to get an online connection with my PS3, I get the following error codes: 80710B23 80710D23 80710723 80710102 So, I'm fairly convinced that the device that wirelessly hooks my PS3 up to the internet is busted, and can probably be fixed if I just find a network adapter that gets hooked up to the PS3

Every PS3 except the 20gb launch models have wifi built in, but if you're looking for the newest 802.11n network standard, you won't find that in any PS3. So I do hope they will have some kind of add on for that, for those who wants a faster up to date standard wifi network.

The average speed of residential broadband in America is around 2 MBits/second, and 802.11g can transfer data about 13 times that fast, so unless you've got an internet connection that runs at around 30 MBits/second, 802.11n wouldn't make any difference as far as online gaming is concerned. It's mostly useful for people who are transferring data between several computers on the same network - not using the internet.
