I don't think it's a necessity at the moment. Seriously who has $5,000 3D TV's anyways?! Jus sayin!

Almost forgot, and $150 3D glasses as well.

I've read somewhere that you need hdmi 1.4 to view in 3D. I think the PS3 supports hdmi 1.3 and 1.4 is a new design. Sony says they can do it so you'll just have to wait and see.

HD DVD died and so will this 3D nonsense. It was cool at first but I would never own a 3D TV, movie or even a game. I am sure I am not alone. I think 3D should just stick with IMAX and select movie theatres. But that's just one man's opinion. 3D is just a hack. Bring on holographic technology.
