What's the point of Trophies in PS3 ??

What's the point of Trophies in PS3 ?? does it give you more cheats/allow you to do more cheats, Points ? well what's point of points ? :S :S :S :S:? :?

just something to do, they don't unlock anything

It's the same reason why people care about gamerscore or their level here on gamespot. It's a way to let the people around the world know how wonderful you are. (haha)

gives you suttin more to do in the game, more replay value and showing off what youv got to friends

Ok ok here is what it's for. Ever go into the restroom take a wizz...then a guy comes up and takes a wiz in the urinal next to you...then you look at his thing and compare it to yours and laugh?

That's what trophies are for!

Most developers don't have the trophies unlock anything because most people don't care if it unlocks anything or not. Trophies in Infamous should have added stuff like invincibility and unlimited hovering powers but nope, all we get is a "Ding"!

perhaps for some people, trophies are accomplishment. perhaps for other people , trophies are ego.
