One of the biggest French magazines, Jeux Vidéo, has scored the worldwide exclusive on the first review of the game, and according to the scoreboard posted on Reddit by userMitharyn and translated by Eymm, it was definitely positive.

Gameplay: 5 stars

Everything works perfectly, the ultra-intuitive hacking allows for exhilarating moments in the game.

Graphics: 5 stars

Very solid on the technical level, especially in the sensation of life that makes Watch_Dogs great.

Sound: 4 stars

Excellent ambient music and sound effects, but the track selection is a little limited.

Longevity: 5 stars

Because it’s a open world featuring multiplayer, there there’s an extreme amount of interesting things to do.

Pros:

• Gameplay and level design
• The life in Chicago
• Generous content

Cons:

• The Story, blah!
• The first loading
• That’s all!

Conclusion:

Watch_Dogs accomplished all the hopes placed on it and delivers a successful new take on open world games. Almost perfect, but with a slight disappointment on the story.

Final Score: 19 out of 20

Of course this is represent just the opinion of a single reviewer from a single magazine, so your mileage may vary on much weight it may hold, but looks like things are off to a pretty good start for Ubisoft’s hacking epic.

I read a preview that wasn't in love with the storyline

Meh. Hard to really get a feel for the game based off one review of a foreign magazine. The best judge of a game is myself, followed by reviews of real people that have played the game. Amazon is pretty good with that.

Need many reviews. Bound By Flame got a 4 on here and got a 7-8 elsewhere.

i am getting it, i think it's going to be good

I was going to get it when it was a launch tittle but now I'll wait because I got such a huge backlog of games on the PS4, 360 and PS3.

Still super excited... can't believe I have a 3 day weekend and then the game comes out :P blah

The only Complains I been hearing lately was the Car controlling was crap, not even on GTA V level or GTA 4 for that matter, is this true? [Still buying the game though]

Many sites and mags take bribes. I am not trusting reviews from a foreign magazine.

I'll wait until sites like Gamespot and Polygon review this. IGN, Joystiq and mags though are not to be trusted, especially IGN.

I'm kept my preorder. I still think its will be good. Even if its not the blockbuster game of the year its supposed to be I think it will be lots of fun. Plus I get $10 bestbuy giftcard by keeping it

Nah not from JB unfortunately, but either way I still wouldn't play it now if I could get it. I'd be too scared on getting banned or something, I can wait for 1 day ay.

Exact same thoughts as the review above, the story is iffy at best, everything else is gorgeous.

Alright guys just got home from picking up my copy of Watch Dogs, if you guys don't see me around for a few weeks if not months you'll know why, lol.

But... the question is, are they French Canadian? There are a lot of those in Canuckland.

Ok so I played the first hour or so and so far it's pretty good. The only thing I don't like so far is the driving... feels a bit weird to me. Maybe I just need time to get used to it or something but first impression is it doesn't feel as good as GTA in that respect.

People from all over the place are making it... Why does that even matter?

I'm getting it too so pumped for it.

Interestingly both Kotaku and IGN agrees on the lack of character and story depth. It's a disappointment, if you ask me.
