Introduction

Welcome to the PS3 Recommendation thread. Here, you will find the top rated and most popular games for the PS3. This thread was created to give you an advice about what game(s) to get. Every game is linked to its gamespace and its written review,in some cases its video review.

*NOTE* ALL"What game should I get?" or any similar questions relating to game recommendation threads outside this stickied thread will be locked. This is THE ONLY place to ask for recommendations in the PS3 board. Thanks. - Caddy06_88

Author's Note: This new thread only contains the most recent titles and not old titles like in previous threads. If you want to check the other recommendation threads, you can check them here. I'll try to keep it up to date every month or when a new set of new releases are available.

Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote

Playstation 3's Blu-Ray Disc Remote is an elegant, sleekly designed controller for enjoying Blu-Ray discs on your PS3. The ergonomic design feels good in your hand and the Bluetooth connection lets you operate with no lag time. Features all the standard DVD remote functions: Chapter display/select A-B Repeat One-Touch Menu Control. The PlayStation 3 Blu-ray remote control enables users streamlined access to the PlayStation 3 system's disc features. Unlike standard infrared remotes, the Blu-ray remote control uses Bluetooth technology so it can be used without ever having to point directly at the PlayStation 3 system. Requires 2 AA batteries (included). The remote allows you to power on the PS3 without turning an actual controller on, which makes saving your Sixaxis's battery life that much easier. The buttons are large, easy to press and use, and the process of registering it with the PS3 is not as bad as some others say. If you are looking to make your PS3 into a quick use Blu Ray player, this is your best bet. You can also use this remote to browse the PSN store or use the internet, so it helps in that regard as well.

Playstation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller

The Sixaxis can operate wirelessly via Bluetooth and up to 7 simultaneous controllers are supported natively by the console. The controller also features a USB mini-B port, which can be used to connect a USB cable for internal battery charging and synchronisation with the PS3 system. The controller can be seamlessly switched from wireless to wired operation, and is charged automatically upon connection. The controller, much like the Xbox 360's, still communicates wirelessly with the console when plugged in and some data is still transferred wirelessly, such as pairing information. The Playstation 3 console comes with a USB to USB mini cable, but spare controllers do not include one.The Sixaxis can operate for up to 30 hours on a full charge. The battery was originally not thought to be replaceable when a Sony spokesperson stated that the Sixaxis should operate for "many years before there's any degradation in terms of battery performance. When and if this happens, then of course Sony will be providing a service to exchange these items". Later, it was revealed that the Sixaxis came with instructions on how to remove the battery and that the battery was fully removable.

Tomrock101

Uncharted 2 has a different storyline but if you want to play another great PS3 exclusive, I think you should get Uncharted.

Ratchet_Fan8

Those games are in the PSN games section. I might add a few more. :)

For Racers what About Motorstorm Pacific rift?BadLegend

Not a bad suggestion, but the game was released in 2008 and it's part of an older recommendations thread. Check the first post please. :)

Anyway, what seems to be the difference between Fallout 3 and Borderands? I did enjoyed Fallout 3 due to FPS elements. Thanks!

Borderlands improves on the FPS elements a lot, with shooting on par with any AAA game. The variety of weapons is also really, really good :D Storys much weaker but overall it's enough to make you want to play more. The class system and talents I prefer to the skill system in fallout as if you can't go wrong and you're allowed to change, unlike Fallout 3. The world looks great due to the unique art style and the art looks really great. The game also has plenty of humour, boss fights, quests/missions, exploration and sidequests. It's basically Fallout 3 but less expansive, less story, but cleaner, simpler customisation, lenghty main story and side quests, mass amount of guns and co-op. I enjoyed Fallout 3 but Borderlands is one of my top 2009 games. It's great!

As far is sports is concerned NHL 10 deserves to be up there. Especially considering it has the highest rating on Gamespot then everything but FIFA10. Also I would still rather Uncharted: Drakes Fortune over Price of Persia, but I might be the only one that feels that way so if someone else comments on it to then that might be worth an addition. Maybe also add the GOW Collection, but it is a PS2 game in essence so again I'll see if anyone agrees with me. Otherwise its good :)

could i make a request/suggestion? could you maybe make a list of games that have offline and online Multiplayer (like 3+) i only ask because i know there aren't many ps3 games that have that many players on/offline and myself (as well as other people i'm sure) would like to know of some games they can bust out with when friends come over. i often have friends over and i'd like for them all to get in on gaming if they want to (its not fun to have a couple buddies and their girls over and when one of the girls wants to play they have to trade off controllers)

Yeah, if you're planning on playing Drake's Fortune at all, get it before you play Among Thieves.
