So I'm on Destiny right now.....without PS+?

I updated Destiny and everything and then I fired the game up. I was expecting to get stopped at the start and asked for a membership first. That never came. I made a new character, played the opening tutorial mission, moved into the Tower where I've seen several people and had a dance with them. Went into the first instanced mission and finished that.

All without an active PS+ membership. I thought it was compulsory or am I just mistaken? Or is the feature bugged and we are getting some free bonus time?

I think PS+ is only requried for the competitive modes or something.

Can you play the actual MP though? I never thought about needing PS+ to play this game at all, even though I know it's online only. That's cool if you can still play most or all of it without a membership.

You can't access PvP (Crusible) or PvE Raids, on your map when you get abit further into the game there will be a level 8 raid map marker on Earth (Russia) which says "Requires Playstation Network +" ... I'm not sure if you can make fireteams/partys with people either... you can see others and interact on the game's zones... but nothing else.

Yeah that is it, I got a bit further and realised what you can and can't do. Still was pretty shocked, normally when it says need a membership for online it means you can't even log in without one.

I just got a 3 month one for £11,99 and will proly get a year one when this ends. Got my PS4 white now all set up up :D.

i thought the game had DRM in it

so you can't play with others, like create a group or join a group at all without PS+? or is it just some modes or missions, but some side quests can be done with groups?

Don't have ps+ and from my experience so far it seems you can play the whole game solo. You can see other people but you can't group with them or do any pvp.

Yea the game is free to play solo, but multiplayer your gonna have to buy a ps+ membership

PS+ only required for strikes and the crucible. you can do everything else.

It tells you you need a ps+ membership when you highlight the crucible right in the info box that pops up. Just highlight strikes and patrols and other things that might offer co-op other than the story. If it doesn't say that you need ps+, try inviting friends or random people from the town to join your party.

@cyloninside: I'm trying to play offline because I dont have internet, I'm using a hotspot but my PS3 can't use it, and I'm trying to play Destiny. It says single player but when I try to play the game it always gives me the marionberry error code
