PS4 VS. Xbox One

Alright guys i'm really struggling with which console I should invest in. I like the potential the PS4 has and i've been thinking of buying one since it was announced but i don't want to regret my decision. My roommate already owns an Xbox One and most of my friends are getting an Xbox One. What do you all think?

I have a PS4, and I'm not a "fanboy", but I think at this point any console would be a good buy. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and it's still too early in the game to pick favorites...but since most of your friends are getting Xbox One, I would probably do the same. Better to have existing friends to play with than trying to make new ones on a different console (that's my problem with the PS4 - thank God for Gamespot forums!)

What sort of potential do you see in the PS4 that you do not in the XBOne?

Both systems are great, you can't go wrong either way. I got the PS4 and will be getting the XB1 eventually and by the way, why are you posting this on the PS forums?

Dunno why you posted it here but buying the one you don't already have access to seems like the smartest choice.

I actually bought an xbox one at first, (look at my name lol), but after 5 months of having it and after a lot of time with both ps4 and x1 I can see that ps4 versions of games have better graphics. You can also out any headphones into the ps4 controller, press the ps button and you can hear the game through your headphones and still chat (I use iPhone headphones) so you don't have to disturb people when playing late at night.

Another thing is the controller, the xbox one controller uses betteries and it honestly feels cheaply made. I made a mistake with the x1 but I sold it for almost what I paid and bought a ps4 with a game and a year of online. Xbox is a ripoff, its $100 more for a weaker system, for $500 you get a ps4, a game and a year of online, and a stronger system with better graphics.

Get a Nintendo, and if tou already have a Nintendo then get another one.

I really don't want to see "PS4 vs. Xbox One" topics here any more. It's BORING. GOD.

I've always chosen PS because of the variety of games, XBOX has shooters and racers, Sony has these and platformers, RPGs, adventure/action ...

As for the "new techs", Kinect simply can't compete with camera + Move : you would lay on your belly and fake swim in front of camera? more simply in an action game, you can't turn back or you won't see the screen, platformer? you want to buy new furniture to jump on it? for many sports moving around is just inefficient, the "jog on place" to run is unnatural and can't allow you the finesse a controller can, especially football where you must react fast to avoid defender tackles or pass.

The new internet uses allowing sharing of videos or photos, a friend taking over your game to help you, will open new ways of playing together.

The new pad also could be used for new things : the speaker can send atmospheric sounds (I liked in Warframa having your contact tell your missions through it), the touch pad is already used in many ways (lighting torch in Tomb raider, navigating map in Assassin's creed).

When it comes to consoles, go with the one all of your friends will be playing on, that's the golden rule.

I think your topic is BS & fake. Anyone can decide for themselves.

PS4 has the specs, better value with PS+, more games and better third party games. X1 has good first party games, but PS4 has that aswell. It all depends on the game in the end
