PS4 mic settings?

I was playing madden 25 online earlier, and the guy I was playing could hear everything going on in my living room, also I have no Mic plugged into my controller. What the hell is going on and how do I change this setting?

Could it be because I have the eye? Does that work as a mic in game?

Didn't even know this....oops. So the other day when I was constantly getting sniped by this one player in BF4, and I just lost it and started yelling "f*** you stupid sniper etc", then everyone could hear me?

I don't have the camera but it seems like when you plug it in, a warning should pop up with an option to turn off the mic. That's pretty lame if they don't have that.

Yes unless you specifically muted the mic on the camera.

I think I might unplug it, I thought the eye is only used with games that use the eye. Also that means everyone heard the time the wife wanted to get naughty with me while I was playing....lol.

LOL, that's just hilarious, but you could just mute it once under settings somewhere and be done with it.

I really don't understand why people don't have it muted anyway, its just a "webcam" and webcams have been on laptops for about 8yrs now, and phones have them... is it really so hard to mute people?
