Hey guys, I was wondering if I could connect my PS3 to my laptop and use the laptop as a monitor. I don't want to spend the money to buy a TV for college, as I just got this laptop.

It has an HDMI input, so I figured I could just plug in the HDMI cable from the PS3 to the laptop, but when I did, nothing happened. Do I need to change anything on my laptop settings? Or does this just not work? The laptop is the HP Pavilion dv9930us: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/rts_notebook/rts_notebook/1/storefronts/FE779UA%2523ABA

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I bet that the HDMI input you're talking about is actually an HDMI output for the Notebook. So as Moshakirby18 already said. No.

Just thought I'd also let you know that a simple monitor flat screen can be used as a TV as well.
