Still good enough to make February one of the best gaming months that I can think of. Bring it on, Namco.

I'm still against the fact that they are charging you 16 bucks for it.

Tekken 5:DR for PS3 lacks so many things that the PSP version came with. For starters, the game doesn't have all the same fighting stages that the arcade version had. Meaning, the Arcade not only had the Tekken DR stages, but it also had the original Tekken 5 stages. So, there's about 37 stages in total in the arcade, while we are just getting the Tekken DR stages that the PSP version got. There's no tekken Bowling, there's no Ghost Data Download, there's no new costumes or anything added to the games content. This game has been stripped and raped to the public and then they have the dignity to sell it to us for 16 dollars. If it was like 8..or maybe 10 dollars, then it would of been understandable, but 16 dollars is just ludicrouis.

So some how if it was $10 it would be worth it?...A difference of $6...come on...seriously...Would you rather them not release anything...really look at it this way...its a 1/4 of a real game..meaning all the things you would like to have 3/4 of them are missing....so its a 1/4 of the cost of a new game....its not that bad...

I think it looks like its going to be easily worth $16. 1080p game, they had to spend some time porting this game from the arcade to the PS3, and seriously, its really got the most important elements of the game intact. So you're missing a mini game and a few stages. BIG DEAL. Its not like you're paying half the cost. Its only $16! If you don't think its worth it, don't get it. Simple.

It really is too bad though that they couldn't add online matches.  That really would have pushed this game over the top.

IGN isnt always right about the release dates, they can only speculate.  But I will say that they are more often on average right about release dates.  Dont forget how they quickly changed the way release date for Flow when that didnt come on time.

You're feeling ripped off at $16?  Nintendo is releaseing straight N64 ports for $10 with absolutely no upgrades.  Microsoft had Call of Duty 2 map packs coming out for whatever 800 points costs, and didn't GRAW downloads cost around $12 on top of the $60 for the game?  Be glad Namco isn't just releasing the game with what it needs to be fun; a 2 player game, an arcade game, unlockables, and a new playable character for a sub-$20 price point.

The main idea is to have several people pitch in a couple bux then 1 person buys it and shares it to the others. IIRC it's 4 or 5 shares per download. They have no intention of having everyone w/ a ps3 buy it.

It was either Sony or Namco that said Tekken DR was coming out sometime before VF5.

At six days, does it really matter?

well it would have been smart for Namco, but perhaps Sony didn't want it to come out before VF. Who knows. maybe there were some politics involved, maybe not. Doesn't matter, I'm going to get it anyway probably.

I got the PSP version so i don't need this. But $16 for it, even if it doesn't have all of the content, is a bargain. So those who want it shouldn't second guess it, GET IT!

Well. that depends on which game one will want to grace the Ps3 as the first Fighter.

I was considering getting them both, but now I'm leaning towards just getting Tekken: DR and waiting for a price drop on VF5. Personally, I think $16.00 is a steal for 1080p Tekken!

Actually it's Tekken if you're counting it that way, since it came out shortly after New Years.

I already have tekken 5 on PS2 and PsP. No need to buy it again, since there's no online mode. WTF is with Namco and never having online fighting?

tekken 5 dr is an arcade port. not a psp port. it will have everything the arcade version has. that includes stages.

as for no online. i've been down that road too many times to even argue the matter.

just know that if tekken was online. the thing would be a piece of ish.

play tekken 3 online and you'll see why.

Yeah, meaning it only has 3 play modes. I'll stick with the PS2 version. As for the lousy online, I have no idea how you're playing Tekken 3 online, but whatever man, I'd think Tekken 5 on the PS Network should be able to work, and hopefully it'll be a part of Tekken 6
