About 2 days ago. I was hit by this Green Light of Death to my PS3 Slim. Anyone with suggestions on how to fix this? I've checked around the web and haven't had the best luck finding a correct solution to this.

This has never happened to me before, so this is new to me.

When I press the power button for it to turn on from red to green, it would change to green for like 1 second then shut off.

When I say shut off, I mean no red light no green light. The light indicator is off and the rest of the system is off. The HDMI is plugged in and the power cord is plugged in and I can hear the system turn on and the fan turn on and then it shuts off.

I bought the slim last year.

Thanks for the link, BUT it's not yellow. It's not the symptoms of the YLOD either. My console loses power and shuts off.

From different websites, I've been reading it's an RSX issue to a motherboard problem.

You're one of the lucky ones. I haven't been so lucky. My 1st 80 GB PS3 fat model got the YLOD. My 2nd PS3 slim's Bluray died, so I just use it for spare parts and my 3rd PS3 got the GLOD.

Yeah, take it back to the store where you bought it (if applicable).

My 60 gig launch did the same thing and it was the internal power supply. It went bad and was out of warrenty. I purchased one on Ebay problem solved.

Ok. I tried switching my Power supply from another PS3 Slim and it didn't work.

Unfortunately I never heard of such problem, your best bet is to call or email Sony Customer PS3 Support. http://support.us.playstation.com/app/contact_options

For future reference it would be a good idea to invest into protection plan, PSN store and Sony Style locations all have their own pricing. For example, when i got my Slim in 2010, Sony Style had 4 year warranty on sale for 79$.

Good luck solving the issue, let us know how it went.

Thanks for ther link and advice. I'm sure it has something to do with the power itself. Maybe a motherboard issue. I already crossed off RSX chip and switching the power supply. I think it's sign to take a break from video games anyway. I'll come back to it eventually.

I decided to switch back over to a previous PS3 Slim and replace my Blue-Ray lense disk from my newer Slim into the older one.

I wanted to take my 500 GB HDD and put it into the older one seeing as how I've lost my saves anyway.

I'm going to tinker with the Bluray player to see if I can fix it 1st.
