According to my iTrackr, the ps3 has been at 15 out of 17 stores for the past 3 weeks. All of a sudden this week, its only at 2 out of 17 stores and the nationwide availability has fallen from 52% to 30% all in this week alone. There are even more wii's available in my area (4 out of 17) than ps3's (2 out of 17). What could have spiked these sudden sales?
Hmm well if that is accurate, then I would guess three things. 1)The European launch is creating buzz, 2) more games are starting to come out, especially in March, and 3) people are getting tax returns.

i think interest is beginning to spark. I walked into best buy a couple of days ago talking to some reps about a new laptop and i noticed a new shipment of ps3s (around 4-5) and also a new shipment of wii's (10ish). By the time I had finished talking which was about an hour and a half later, all the ps3s were gone and there still about 6 wiis left.

very interesting, i have been hearing similar stories in my area . . . this is amazing, to have this much of an interest spike without anything happening. May be now that they pretty much know blu ray is going to win, people are picking it up as a blu ray player? I expected this boost in sales to happen, but not till motorstorm and vf5. This is impressive

hopefully that is not too far off. If heavenly sword, motorstorm, and vf5 all go AAA, the ps3 will already be outdoing the 360

This is impressive expensive consoles, people need time to recover from christmas spending, that's what i think. Right now Games are not driving PS3, i believe the Blu-ray does. Either way it's a win win situation for Sony.
I'd say blu-Ray is creating quite a buzz, my friends dad wanted one as a Blu-Ray player, and then I brought mine over to his house and showed him how it can use the internet and how it looks in HD and now he wants one for everything haha, it was cool.

its crazy but my friend has the same story, he bought a ps3 60 gig and christmas and his dad just got a second ps3 (20 gig) just for blu ray.
