PS2 classics on the PSN?

Why is the list so small? PS2 had a bunch of games that I'd like to play again. There were a lot of RPGs that I didn't get to play. Plus a bunch of other games. Unless there's more for plus members?

Because it launched recently, and there's some code fixing for each game so they can't justupload all of them at once. Give it few months (years perhaps) and the selection should be significantly bigger.

There are already 10 PS2 classics on PSN (here is a list http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1212313p1.html)

Combine that with the 40 other PS2/PSP/Xbox games that were remastered in HD for the Playstation 3, that's a fair amount of PS2 games now compatible on the PS3. I'm sure Sony will continue the trend with more games to follow soon enough.

It is a new service provided by Sony. It will take some time for them to upload more games. They are still uploading more games for the PS1 every week. If your PS3 is backwords compatable, I would suggest playing some older games.

I wish the service would reach UK soon. Im curious to play PS2 games that I never got the chance to like Ring of Red and Godhand.

most of the big games that everyone thinks about (god of war, prince of persia, sly, re4) for the ps2 have gotten the hd "remake" treatment. publishers want to market them as completely new games rather than the snappier ps2 ports they are, so they get put in psn games or ps3 full releases categories.

but yeah, im glad to see that they seem to be focusing on games that not everybody has. i already got godhand, which ive been wanting to play for a while.

And on Polish servers we still don't have any title from PS2 classics...
We got PSX but still not every.. like no spyro. ;|

Thought about making UK acc to get some titles. :)
But on the other hand... Since I played on Psx and Ps2... then I don't need everything.

I am happy with what I have. :P

It doesnt help that alot of the best PS2 games are getting HD collections as well.

its great to see that Sony has not forgotten the PS2 and has decide to download only the best of the PS2 so far Europe has 45 titles whats more they seem to be region free as well just download one from the US store maybe they left off the region proctection as the only way of getting them to work on the PS3.

Maybe a firmware is on the way as well to play PS2 Disc based games after all if they can download they they must not be far off a way of playing disc based PS2 games
