Hi I planning on buying a PS3 80 GB but I want to know if I can play PS2 (Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts) on it.

I may be wrong but I belive the 80G fats with 4 USB ports will play PS2 games and the 80G fats with 2 usb ports will not.

dont even bother with a 80 gb fat, it will 100% break down on you, kingoflife9
I've had mine for four years now and it hasn't or currently has a single problem.

You must have a first generation PS3 phat 80Giger. It has 4 USB ports. The second generation 80GB PS3 has only 2 USB ports and is not B/C with PS2.

Just give it time. I had a launch system that got the YLoD after I owned it for 4 or 5 years. My brother also had a launch system that died about a year after mine died, and then a friend that had one of the 80gig NON-BC fatties died around the same time. It's not a matter of IF your fattie will die, it's WHEN.

The 80 gig with 4 USB ports will play most PS2 games but if can find a 40 or 60 gig system then it plays more of the PS2 games. I still have my 60 gig system that's still going strong.

dont even bother with a 80 gb fat, it will 100% break down on you, it just uses too much power nd has hardware failures. I had every ps3 model, the best are the regular slims. the super slims are wayyyyy too loud and noisy and cheaply made, and the fats are not reliable anymore. the regular slims are the quietest and most reliable. if you want to play ps2 games just buy a cheap used ps2 for like $30, or buy hd remakes which look better, or download ps2 classics from the psn store.kingoflife9
umm..ive had my 80gb fat since 08... hasnt broken down.

I hate it, But I completely Agree With You. I have worked for gamestop for 4 years and from experience I say to stick with the regular slim model
