I think he should keep using cutscenes with MGS. Its what makes MGS what it is.
And I dont know about you, but i enjoyed every minuite of the cutscenes right from MGS1 to MGS4.
I dont know what he will do with MGS5 though. He should do a MGR (metal gear raiden) which could be more sword based. But still sneaky. He could do MGS4 again from his perspective?
Chances are though MGS will become a franchise. I would not be suprised if one say we gave MGS FPS set between MGS2 and 3. I also would not be suprised with RTS MGS games and such.
Let the series end before driving it to the mud... I doubt a Metal Gear game would ever get 10s at both GameSpot and IGN...metalgear-solid

I agree. It should end on a good note. MGS4 has tons of replay value anyway. BUT, he should definitely make another series with similar elements. Like hammerspacing heavy artillery!
