I really like this game. wish it was just not only to the ps3 but to the vita as well. Or is it because the vita isn't powerful enough?

It's been confirmed for the Vita, I think for the summer.

but what if I bought it already for the ps3? would it be available for crossplay?

Probably not. Sony games are cross play, indie games aren't.

Awesome. I was really disappointed this wasn't out for Vita when I saw the high review here. I absolutely love the PC version and think I could find a lot more time to play it on the Vita. It seems like they could use the touch screen to great effect.

That's not true at all. Guacamelee isn't a Sony game, neither is Retro City Rampage, Thomas Was Alone, or Zombie Tycoon 2. The developer gets to make the choice. If they think they'll profit from two separate versions, they probably will, especially if the two versions don't release simultaneously.
