Depends. If you rush through it, it shouldn't be too long. If you take your time to absorb in the environment, look for collectibles, and do a bit of stealth it can be over 15 hours. Then there is multiplayer which is actually fun in my opinion. When you beat the story the first time, it unlocks Plus mode giving you incentive to play again.Â
if your really good or just rush it, i'd say its short, but if you suck or just want to do a real survival game play, it will be long. I'm 7+ hours in it, sneaking, silent kills and looking for everything. Oh and i'm getting killed too. The game has its moments when it really annoys you, apart from that, like Mcdonalds says, I'm Lovin It :D
Took me 19+ on Normal with Listening Mode Off. On Hard Mode (LM off of course) I'm not dying as much but everywhere I had found things like ammo an such there is none. So your gonna have to explore a hella lot. That right there is gonna make for a LOTTA time. The game puts you in a position to make a choice as far as crafting whatever you THINK you might need. Say...a Health Pack or a Molotov. Anyway that takes time to think through...I dunno man it just adds up.
It took me like 20+ hours the first time around, but I'm one of those guys that likes to look in area for the map for hidden stuff.
I'm doing NG+ now (they let you carry over your upgrades) and I'm enjoying it... I don't know if I could go through a 3rd time though. I just want to get all the upgrades maxed out.
I haven't tried the MP yet, but people say it's a lot of fun. All in all, I think it's worth the $60 for sure. In fact, the first playthrough was so good, I'd say it was worth the $60 just for that.
Took me just over 11 hours on hard, im quite surprised by people saying 20+. Im usually the person that takes the longest for my first playthroughs! Game is certainly one of the finest this generation and worth everyones time and cash!
I didn't rush but on normal mode it took me 12 hours. However, the AI was pretty bad for a lot of the game, making stealth on this difficulty not a necessary part of the game. I'd imagine the game really shines on hard and survior mode, which I'm thinking I'll be trying next to get the full experience (as some moments were tense on normal mode, but I feel like the real tension comes at a higher difficulty level).
