any word on how long the initial system update takes?

mine's been at it for a while now

anxious to start playing ;)

I didn't time it, but from memory only 2 weeks ago I would say about 10-15 minutes.

phew...finally done took an hour but everything is up and working (i used the wireless connection and my router sends a weak signal to that part of the house so that could be why it took so long) setup = not the smoothest but the gameplay and the movie i just purchased (the departed) more than make up for it AWESOME! extremely pleased ;)

I'd usually suggest the first time setup be done over wired connection just to assure you dont uncur a dropout that could cause an error in the downloaded data. But yeah the wifi is probably the reason it took so long. aside from that Gettint set up and playing a game took me no more than 30minutes.

If the poster was talking about updating from 1.0 then it would have had to have been over a wired connection. When I got mine I tried to do the update with the wireless and when I went to set it up it prompted me to update. Wireless use became available with 1.1. Easiest way for me was to just put it on a USB drive.

It took one hr for me. and it took 4 hrs for GTHD to download.DSL that explains it right.
