I want to buy some stuff from the PSN but it won't let me add funds to my wallet. I regularly purchase stuff from there and never had any problems until now. I always use the same credit card. Anybody experiencing similar problems ?

It says something like :"Sorry, the purchase could not be completed, please try again"

All i can sggest is make sure you are getting your billing address exactly like it shows on your card statements. Even if you have something as minor as a period out of place or a capped letter where it shouldn't be it will get rejected as not matching.

What's weird is that I have used this card before, probably no longer than 3 weeks ago, and of course once you enter your credit card info and number you don't ever have to enter it again, you just confirm what you wanna purchase. And now all of a sudden it stops working. No information on the card has changed either.

You prolly are continuing the address into the "Address Line 2" section. They kept denying me until I realized I was makin that mistake.

Address Line 2 is suppossed to be for an additional address only.

I'm not sur what to do here but try this... Try reentering the credit card info and all the other stuff again and see if it works. Sometimes PSN just doesnt see it. Hope that helps

Sure you have money on that card? haha jk

Check the address line thing, I had the same problem, but Sony told me that when I contacted them over the phone.

This is absolutely the problem - I live in an apt and the apt # was being autopoulated into the 2nd address line. When I deleted it from the 2nd address area and added the unit # to the first address line, the transaction was approved. Anyone else having this isse should try this and see if that doesn't ge tit going. Good luck

SONY has been having server problems since 2.42 was released earlair today. My advice is to wait a few hours before trying again or attempting to add funds on the PC since the PC and PS3 store should use the same wallet.

Why doesnt sony allow transfer via paypal?? Nintendo's point system is much better, so i've been enjoying occarina of time for weeks. But now that link's out of the way and the one-winged angel is in the picture i cannot add funds to my PSN simply because my address is not based in the uk or other major country in the EU... I'm from Cyprus btw...

How many pages back did you have to go to find this old thread? In case you didn't notice, it wasn't touched for about 5 months until now.

I am also having the same problem and have yet to solve it. I am very dissatisfied with their customer service as they just sent me some pre-written stuff that didn't help at all. I just used my credit card on the network a month ago and now it says it's not valid. It did it to my other card as well.

I know this is an old topic, but I'm having the same issue. Bought some games only a month or so ago, no problem. Now I just tried to use the same card on file and it's giving me errors. The card is already stored in their system, so it's not like any of the info changed, or I entered it wrong. Lamesauce.

Who made you the forum warden? It's still a relevant topic. Do we really need multiple "I can't add funds to my PSN wallet" threads? How about posting something helpful instead of hypocritically bumping the thread yourself with a completely useless reply...

For some reason around the time ps+ came out people were having trouble adding funds. For most it was due to the credit card expiration date being changed. I would check there first.

Yep, tried that. I've updated my credit card info in every configuration I can think of. Followed PSN's guidelines, double-checked with my credit card to see how the address was in their system ... no dice. Guess my last option is to call Sony.

Edit: Turns out Sony's technical support is completely worthless. Their suggestions were "just keep trying to re-enter your info" (and get locked-out of the system for 24hrs) and "buy a pre-paid PSN card" (a $20 PSN card for a $16.04 game). Awesome.

This. I had my aptnumber as 114 on PSN, my credit card billing address was apt 114M. Which is correct. This drove me nuts for about 90 minutes one day. Finally figured it out.

You can try creating another user on the same ps3 and linking the master account to it. That's what i did when i had the same problem.

you can buy instant psn cards from one of the online vendors (gamestop.com, maximuscards.com, shopto.net, etc.), where you'll receive the psn code for the amount you've bought electronically via e-mail...

ok, if your card is from outside of us and you are trying to use it, you cannot, i used to use my visa card from a turkish bank for psn up until a year or a year and a half ago without any problems, at that time for some reason i could not use my mastercard from the same bank... i do not have a credit card from another country but turkey, that is why i use these online vendors for my us account and so far it has been working perfectly, and since it has been working perfectly so far, i did not need to search an alternative method... as the saying goes: "if there is a will, there is a way"... :)

then you should have an italian psn account and no problems... :) the reason why i am having problems is that there isn't a turkish psn store... :)

I'm having the same problem as well... Can enter my card info on the billing address just fine, but when I try to add funds to the wallet it says it can't. And I don't have a PO, don't live in an apartment, and have nothing on the second line... Anyway as for your dollar charge. Sony cues up a 1 dollar charge, to verify that the stuff you entered in the Billing Address section is correct, but Sony doesn't take the money.

PSN just loves to rebel. I've encountered several times this kind of problems but then I just wait a few days and try the exact same thing and it just magically works.

how long does it usually take to get the "1 dollars" back?

LanceVance87

I don't know.

On my online statements it doesn't show the dollars taken, I just know about the dollar because when I contacted my Credit Card about my PSN issue they responded with: A review of your account indicates that there are nine authorizations from PLAYSTATION NETWORK authorized on February 13, 2011 in the amount of $1.00 each. I hope this information meets your needs.

But the actual charges never showed up on my payment statement, so I'm guessing they are all cued up as unathorized.

They even have it in writing... read the small text.

BTW: PSN wallet still won't accept my CC for transfers.... Also, can't log-in to their forums, becasue it says my email is already in use. But I can log into PSN. As far as I'm concerned Sony's network system is royaly, messed up.

I finally got it working. For the Billing Address on PSN's Account Managment site, I added my state prefix to the end of my city, and now I can buy stuff with my credit card. Too bad I didn't try that during the Atlus Sale.... I missed out on all of those half priced games.
