Haven't tried it yet. Better than PS3 or the same? I have limited hdmi slots on the new TV I got for a new place. Seeing if I have to keep swapping my PS3 for BD films or not.

If you own both why not just test it and let us know.

I will eventually. Just insanely curious and eager to know beforehand. To be honest I work a crapload and I'm moving into a new place, so it actually will be some time before I really could test it.

And your icon in my comment notification box made me think I had a fruit fly on my screen. Good job.

it would have taken you less time to put a BD in your PS4 than it would have to post this thread.....

I'm going to test as well, problem is I don't have enough wall sockets for both, got enough HDMI ports and cables though... Could probably just turn off my NAS or powered switch I suppose.

I work about 12-15 hours, day and night shifts combined. Wrote this from work. Haven't gotten around to it yet. lol. Seeing that nobody knows, I probably will be first to know.

I sort of know, but this is with old firmware on PS4 so I'm not sure if it has improved. The audio of BD's is slightly better, video quality is the same but the loading times are worse (about 1-2 seconds worse).

This was all routed through a amplifier then a TV, your setup could be different.

best i can tell you is it doesnt support 3D bluray so dont bother with that.... otherwise i would expect it to perform the same as any other bluray player.

I didn't notice any difference in quality between my PS3 and PS4 but I have only watched one Blu-Ray on my PS4 and don't really notice minute differences in picture quality like some people might.

I have watched some BluRays on the PS4 by now, I really cannot see any difference in quality compared to the PS3.
I read some reviews that the quality on the PS4 is supposedly lower... I really cannot confirm that.

:S there won't be much difference it's still showing it in 1080p, i mean the ps4 blu ray drive is a faster drive than the ps3, but it does not support 3d at the moment but this will be patched very soon, i don't see it not being but for me i can't see 3d anyway so i don't care. and seeing as tho sony had involvement of the blu ray invention then i don't see them having a worse drive than there ps3 :S most of what makes blu ray blu ray is the firmware anyhow all the drives are mostly the same.
