I was wondering if someone can post high definition screen shots of a ps3 game and also a non-high definition screen shot of the same game so i can compare the graphics.

We have a hd tv its a sony one itsa xbr trintron it can support 1080 i and p (we bought it 2-3 years ago for $4000 but they discontinued making it cause it was to expensive for a 36 inch tv) anyways i cant play my games on this tv because someones always watching it so i have a non hd tv to play a ps3 on. Actually i can play on it when no ones home but anyways do i need to buy a hdmi cable to play on hd or is a s video cable enough.

HD may be the future, but if no one can afford it that future may be pretty far off.

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Input) cable is digital HD (High Definition), while Component cables are either digital (YCbCr) or analog (Y'PbPr).

HD will eventually replace all non-HD. History have showed us this before in the past.

You got to see it in person. Posting screen shots doesn't do it justice.

S-video is NOT high definition. it's basically like an A/V composite cable (the one you got when you bought your ps3). HDMI is High defenition. A hint when buying one: look for one that's cheap, between $20-$10. if you get one that costs like $60, alll i'm gonna say is bad deal. all HDMI cables are the same. Note: 4000$? My 42" HDTV cost about 1000$ for 1080i, and I saw a 50" Full 1080p for about 2000$

If you bought this TV 2-3 years ago, I doubt very seriously it is 1080, especially 1080p.  There were no broadcasts or media formats that could utilize it...come on man!

The guy that said he bought a 1080p tv 2 years ago is lying through his keyboard thats impossible cause they were only released in the fall of last year so dont lie about it . But spending 4000 gs on a sony tv i can see even at 36 inchs, cause my 32 panasonic viera was 2500 when it first came out and sony is the most expensive even though they are the same as samsung

Yeah, I'm not that "up" on electronic advancements regarding audio/video, only computer-related components.  I do know that 1080p was showing up only last fall.  The marketing push was "FULL 1080p" and still is.  2 years ago my azz.  His little Sony may have component jacks in the back, but I GUARANTEE there are no HDMI ports, which 1080p requires...

HD is that good that if my HDTV broke and I had to play on a SD temporarily then I just wouldn't bother. Well I would find it hard to play in SD.
