Mine was kingdom hearts and made me a fan from there. What was yours?

Launch titles.

Street Fighter EX 3 and Time Splitters come to mind.

I buy these machines at launch, so it's hard to remember back to October 2000, but I had four or five launch games. I think DOA and Tekken Tag were also in that pile.

Silient Scope with no light gun, it sucked.

#4 Posted by MarcRecon (5838 posts) -

Tekken Tag and Timesplitters and I still have both titles that I boot up once in a while.

A Crash game, my first game has always been a Sony mascot character, it would have been Crash for PS3 if they made one....but no....

So I got LBP (another Sony mascot), PS4 will probably be LBP3 as of now.

NHL 2k7, FIFA Street 2 and Gran Turismo 4. Followed by Champions of Norrath, GTA LCS and Formula One 2006.

Got my PS2 on christmas 2006 (was late to the party cause I had a XBOX one month after launch and was primarily gaming on PC).

I bought a PS2 in late 2003. Quake 3 Revolution was my first PS2 game along with used PS1 games like Doom.

#13 Posted by Blueresident87 (5339 posts) -

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and I still play this game and the second one.

Some Scooby Doo game. Night of 1000 Frights or something. I was like 9 and it was mostly something my brother wanted anyway.

I think Off Road Fury 2, or whatever pack in ATV game came with my PS2. I didn't buy a PS2 until later. I was way more into PC gaming back then...consoles (after the SNES) were an after thought.

Damn that's a brain-strainer... I think it was WWE Smackdown vs Raw because I didn't get a PS2 until a couple of years after launch, and WWE came out in 04 I think.

Gran Turismo 3, it came with the console when I had it for Christmas. I think the first PS2 game I actually bought was Theme Park World, it was horrible lol

I remember getting a few games around my birthday, namely Timesplitters and Burnout, the very first game. Oh they were fun!

#31 Posted by watchdogsrules (443 posts) -

My very first ps2 game was GT3

#42 Edited by yixingtpot (1405 posts) -

launch games I forgot about and lost some... I do recall playing TimeSplitters a bit... then the Onimusha stuff started coming out and I still own all those... there was that Sony horror game with horrible controls... Infected? a type of zombie game with terrible controls. I still own most of my PS2 collection... about 50 games, half of what I once owned. Oh I googled it, the zombie game was called Extermination not Infected.

#43 Posted by rlazoti (8 posts) -

mine was Need for Speed Underground.

#44 Posted by Vivamp (29 posts) -

I was given my ps2 by someone, and they accidentally left GTA: Vice City in it, so i guess that, however i had played gran turismo 3: A Spec loads prior to that on a ps2 that wasnt explicitly mine.

Mine was Dragon Quest VIII and it completely blew me away. It was visually stunning, the world was massive, and load times were practically nowhere to be seen.
