No issues on mine. However, one of my close friends got a PS3 3 days ago, and he said that while watching Syriana, it froze 3 times, lasting 15 sec each freeze.LoboSolo  There is one source right there. There have been quite a handful of people that have had these problems. Doesn't seem to be a big problem. The newest update seems to fix it.
Crank wouldn't load .. I discovered was a defective BlueRay disk.I read a review at an official HD movie review site (If I can find the name of the site, I'll post it) that said that Ice Age was the best looking Blu Ray movie. You can see details that you didn't even know were there in the first place.
I suggest to watch "Fly Boys" excellent picture quality and colors ... truely next-get !

There have been quite a handful of people that have had these problems. Doesn't seem to be a big problem. The newest update seems to fix it. When someone says, "I keep hearing that blu-ray movies freeze on the PS3" they are implying that it's a pretty wide problem affecting many people. So much so, that a firmware patch is needed. Well, that is not the case. Since most people have had great performance from the blu-ray drive. A "source" would be an article that shows that Sony has had many complains from people that are getting a "freezing" problems. Nothing of that scale has happed. A big problem is more like the issue with the scaling problem or the jaggies from the PS2 games. So, you can't just reference "Some guy, who is a friend says that his copy of Syriana froze on him 3 times, 15 seconds..." That's not a source. You yourself, said, "There have been quite a handful" then follow that up with "doesn't seem to be a big problem." Quite a handful, yet not a big problem? Which is it? By the way, I have never had a blu-ray movie freeze. And I have over 20 movies. Just seems like the TC heard a rumor that was blow out of proportion.

Here's a few of the best looking blu-ray titles... Film: Mission Impossible 3 Crank Blackhawk Down Kingdom of Heaven Underworld: Evolution CGI: Open Season The Wild Corpse Bridei keep hearing the blu-ray movies freeze on the ps3, does it work well and if not to 100% will this fix evr be included in an updateelmetfanowork fine on mine.
Crank or Kingdom of Heaven are the choice for reference disk IMO.
For the blu-ray playback on PS3, I think there is some random pausing problem reported in the (or before) 1.5 patch, but I think Sony was quick to release a fix in 1.51.
UK got Casino Royale in their first 500,000 PS3.
Lucky bastards.

Casino Royale? Damn, thats sweet. Wish I could exchange the crappy Talledega Nights for that.
