This is the first Blu-Ray disc I purchased and second I have seen other than Talladega Nights.  However here is my review.

Many of you want to pick up the Departed for your Blu-Ray compatible PS3 to showcase your killer HDTV rig.  The transfer is nearly flawless and the images are crisp and burst with detail.  The true potential of Blu-Ray is quite apparent and the colors and details hold up even in the prominent use of dark scenes.  One would have to wonder how much better a movie transfer could be handled.  While not as graphically "poppy"  as Open Season, Departed offers a great visual showcase, with a strong storyline.

The PCM audio is handled nice and rivals the HD Audio found on the HDDVD disc.  In fact on an engadget review in a blind test study both reviewers found the PCM to be slightly superior in sound.  All that extra fidelity goes to good use as well, especially through The Departed's strong soundtrack.  Using forbidden>

The Blu-Ray movie I purchased was a pre-order of Casino Royale. What a great movie to be on Blu-Ray! :D

I picked it up.  The HD transfer is awesome, but I thought the movie itself was way too overbloated & convoluted.  I understood the end, (my 2 buddies didn't get it), but they could have easily chopped 30 minutes out of this movie & it would have been a lot better for it.  It just meandered way too much at some points.

I just got done watching this movie about an hour ago.

Although it was in DVD format.

On a crappy television that isn't mine...

But I loved every minute of it.
