Great question.  I'll try it when I get home.  I would think so.

I have actually tried and it did not work. You would think it would, but nope. You can charge it on a PC though. I guess the sixaxis is looking for some kind of computer before charging.

even though they both use USB B ports, some devices such as (controllers) need a higher voltage to charge itself than other devices. otherwise it won't charge it at all. it shouldn't do any damage to it though...

you could charge it through your computer using the usb cable - which brings up another point --- can you use your ps3 controller as a gamepad on your computer?

Yes, you can. Also, if you have a laptop or desktop w/ bluetooth capability, you can use it that way also.

this falls under that basics of electronics. You need to know the poloarity and the voltage of the charger before you try anything. You may just fry your controller if the voltage is too high. Also, if the polarity isn't right, it could either fry the circutry, or simply not work. So, unless you know the charging requirements, or you just have extra controllers that you don't want, I wouldn't try it without more data.

I use my PSP cable to charge my controller. All it really is a cable called the mini-USB. Anything that uses it will work with the controller.
