Now when you go into Eb/gamestop your talking to some well educated employees that have a degree in ...... oh thats right nothing more than High School education required or less education to work at your average store, you do the math and take advice from who ever the hell you want to, but thats just my look at things.
It would be different if the employees at gamestop were actually making video games for a living and knew everything about the hardware in those systems and made games for all the systems and knew the ends and outs of the industry.

internship omg!
Ok id like to say first off im an owner of all three systems. Yesterday i went to Ebgames just browsing and I asked was there any kind of release date set on Devil May Cry 4. The employee proceeded to talk shyt about how DMC4 is now going to be on both systems and even went on further to tell my friend that Metal Gear 4 is going to be a shared game as well. i played dumb and asked him why and he said the developer didn't like the idea of keeping it on one and decided that they would port it to the 360 as well. When he came out and told me all that i didn't even bother arguing with him i knew he was another fanboy. Im not biased at all about the systems. I know when Halo 3 comes out for 360 i'll be on that and when Heavenly Sword comes out for PS3 i'll be playing that. Why do eb game employees go to such great lengths to talk shyt that is totally untrue about the PS3 is my question? And second to that why the hell are they so misinformed? shadowchaos7

whats wrong with an internship I know with the degree I'm getting I can get an internship that pays $13 to $15 an hour which is much better than I'm sure what ebgames would pay me an hour.
there's alot of reasons...
1. zune... mp3 player in a game store (M$ product)... hmmmm... i don't see any ipod in that store
2. straight fanboy

yea... but I don't want to work hard lol!
and I just want to see how its like to work there.... I'm pretty sure I'll be a fanboy too and tell customers that xbox360 will blow up their house, and make them lose their hearing because its too loud...
 lol j/p though
just cause they work at EB doesn't mean they know any better than the people in this forum. shoot, my boy was a manager, a MANAGER at gamestop, and he would call me sometimes for info cause he wouldn't have the slightest idea about something a costumer would ask about a game. There's a difference between being uninformed and just plain lying, and because of their obvious anti-PS3 bias I'm more apt to beleive they're lying and they do it with glee and happiness. On the forums you're far mroe likely to run into someone who actually DOES know what they;re talking about and is willing to correct someone who gets it wrong. In EB/GS you;d probably end up in a fist fight with some of these arrogant fanboys.
From all the hobbies in the world, video game fans are the worst. We act like we know it all, and usually half the info we think we know is usually wrong.

Well if you want to look at the facts as insults on those people go right ahead because unfortunately some people take their advice. Now some of their advice is informative and true on some things but alot of that xbox360 is just bull.

What a ridiculous statement, there are plenty of dumbass people with degrees, all a degree (yes I have mine) does is show that you were able to pass some classes at a college level which for the most part has everything to do with memorization. EBgames, at least before Gamestop bought them required a 4 year degree or hella retail experience to work there. The bottom line is they need to stop hiring gamers. It's not that hard to get knowledge on a game. Stop hiring gamers, and you'll stop getting fanboy opinions. Every assistant manager that my wife has hired at her store was biased towards some system, most of us are. Hire non gamers, and train them, it's still retail they need to learn the product. The "gamers" that shop at these stores never paid the associates any attention anyway, evidenced by these boards day in and day out. So why not hire non gamers, EB/Gamestop doesn't care about the "gamers" anyway, they care about the people who don't know any better. You know those customers that don't know that you don't need to preorder both games, those ones that will buy the warranty on ever system they buy, and my favorite one, the customer that will buy the scratch replacement plan for you game for 3 extra bucks  those people. Now when you go into Eb/gamestop your talking to some well educated employees that have a degree in ...... oh thats right nothing more than High School education required or less education to work at your average store, you do the math and take advice from who ever the hell you want to, but thats just my look at things.

I get the sh*t talked to me when I go in Gamestop, too. Most of the time when I'm in there, you would think Bill Gates is working behind the counter. I don't see why what system I'm buying a game for matters to them so much, but the PS3 hatred is very apparent in that store. I don't even go in that much anymore, because the trash talking and arguing are just getting old.

i played dumb and asked him why and he said the developer didn't like the idea of keeping it on one and decided that they would port it to the 360 as well. shadowchaos7
Seems like you're not mad that he was a fanboy, just that he wasn't a Sony fanboy. What he said has been widely speculated by the mainstream press... DMC4 and MGS4 are possibly coming out on the console whose name cannot be spoken. You can say that he's a jerk for telling you this, but both of these stories have been out there for a while, and if you ask me, that employee has his finger on the pulse of gaming.
And in response to the question you asked him, the answer is $. If the PS3 install base is smaller than Sony developers are accustomed to working with when these titles launch, then expensive games like the 2 you mentioned will have to look into getting their games in the most houses possible to help them recoup their development costs and turn a profit. If that means going cross platform, don't think for a second that they won't. And if you really like the developer's work, you'd want them to make a lot of money so they can keep making wonderful games, and wouldn't care if it was an exclusive. It's also speculated that MANY games who have already signed on to be PS3 exlusives are going to artificially delay their releases untill enough time has passed for the PS3 install base to grow. Like Namco said a few months ago... all their games that sell fewer than 1/2 a million copies lose money. So either half of all current American PS3 owners buy their game, or it wasn't even worth their time.
So although the register-jocky shouldn't give unsolicited information about the liklihood of former exlusives going multi-platform just to piss off PlayStation fans, you can't fault him for talking about gaming news and the changes in the industry. It's store policy.
