This is gonna be a stupid question but I wanted to ask. If I put a Blu-ray into a standard DVD player, 1) Does it play at the regular 480i resolution? 2) Will I damage the Blu-ray disc in any way? ;) Thanks for indulging me!

You won't damage the Blu-ray disc, but it won't play in a standard DVD player.

don't worry that doesn't make the top 100 list of stupid question i've seen on these forums.

it just won't recognize the disc, and i don't know if it will damage it.  I doubt it will though BD's are the toughest disc format to date.

Some blockbusters has them. Though I don't think any place has a good selection... Might as well buy them, or get used ones....

1) No, it's called blu-ray because well... the players use a very precise blue laser. DVD players use red (?) lasers and will not be able to read any blu-ray discs...

2) Hmm... maybe, doubt anybody has or would want to try... (Though it most likely won't do anything...)

dont use netflix OR blockbuster.com, both are horrible IMO.. use gamefly or gameznflix.com

you can rent almost all console games, hddvd, bluray, regular dvd all on the same account for 16 bucks a month.. you dont have to add a separate account to rent games.. its all in 1 account..

Gameznflix is horrible.  What are you smoking?  To the OP I have blockbuster.com membership and they carry blu-ray movies.

Does Blockbuster Online ship Blu Ray? Cause I have an account and I can't find Blu Ray on the site.
