Hi guys,

So I have the Destiny bundle pre-ordered, and I just realized that the PS4 had HDMI and optical only. I had planned to set my PS4 up like I have my PS3 set up, which is connected to my computer monitor via HDMI and my computer speakers via RCA. The problem is, PS4 does not have RCA and the ONLY option I see available to me, is to buy an optical to RCA adapter. Does anyone use this method? If so does it work well?

If you don't use this method, is there another method to achieve this?

I used to use my PS3 this way (optical), and now I use my PS4 as well.

Don't worry, it works pretty well.

What you're looking for is a DAC. That's basically what A/V receivers are. Every single person who uses a PS4 uses a DAC of some sort. Better ones cost more money and sound a lot better than cheap ones. Computer speakers aren't regarded for their audio quality, the cheapest one you can find will likely do.
