I'm thinkin of purchasing this game for cheap, but a lot of reviews put it in the 6-7 range. I would just like to know the opinion of some people who acutally played it, did you enjoy it? Why or why not?

And please no comments about me doing my own research, I did and I just want to hear actual opinions, thanks.

I thought it was decent and def worth the money i paid for it which was $15 like two years ago. The puzzles are easy and so is the combat the scare factor never quite reaches the level it did in the older SH games. The story is so-so but at least the graphics are great and it tries to stay true to the horror genre unlike say RE. Overall i did enjoy it and played through it twice to get all the achievements(played on the 360).

It's not a bad game, it just never reach the feel or enjoyment/scare of the old series.

15-20$ sounds about right.

My brother played it and he said that while it was unfair at times, he had fun.

Um... that depends really.

RE5 is not really traditional Resident Evil game neither. Gameplay wise they are both little different as well. From pure gameplay perspective (action oriented) RE5 is better in my eyes.

I'd say overall - RE5 is better finished product compare to Homecoming however neither game represents the quality of their previous installations.

I guess what I'm trying to point out, I have played and grown up with all the Silent Hill and Resident Evil series and for me personally both Homecoming and RE5 are average, with RE5 better product overall.

SH is the better horror game but RE5 is a better game overall just dont expect RE5 to be scary. Its more more like a B grade action movie.

Definitely. RE5 was such a HUGE letdown. They turned a survival horror into an action shooter. Homecoming has more guns than earlier games, but its still a survival horror game first and foremost. Its more exciting and scary than Origins and that played more like the originals too if that says anything. The series has turned into a mixed bag though. People have different feelings either hate, like or appreciate for what it is each separate S/H since the original series.

Yes....I enjoyed it, "BUT" to be honest I didn't finish it. I had borrowed it from a friend...never got back to it but I will eventually. Never the less, it was time well spent playing.

It's worth playing!

I'd rate it 8/10 and praised the story and atmosphere. Unfortunately the combat is quite frustrating and difficult, and boss fights are poor. Still a great game though which I believe is underrated. :)

No, it doesn't come close. While Silent Hill: Homecoming is definitely survival horror and offers many scary/chilling moments, Resident Evil 5 is an amazing action horror game (just don't expect any scares).

I remember being extremely disappointed. SH3 actually had better graphics on the PS2, and that's a huge part of the SH experience. Other than that, the characters and monsters were all pretty dull. I can't even remember the plot

Homecoming was trash. Terrible Silent Hill game, and just a bad game in general.

The only good thing about the game was the soundtrack.

Slashkice

what about the graphics?
