I plan on buying a ps3 soon and couldn't decide which to get. 60 gb ps3 (219.99) or 120 gb ps3 slim (199.99) I really want a 60 gb so I can play the tons of ps2 games I never got a chance to play( kingdom hearts 1&2, dragon quest 8, jak 1-3, ratchet and clank 1- deadlocked, the naruto games and more.) Think of every good ps2 game and you bet I never played it. But then I heard 60 gb ps3's get the YLOD and I really don't want that. I also heard that they have problems playing modern games.(

PS3 Slim and buy a second hand PS2 is your best bet. 60GB is too risky and likely to YLOD.

I would say get the ps3 slim and if you really want the play ps2 games, buy a ps2 on craigslist. I'm pretty sure you could get one for less then $50

Unless you're a collector and want the OG ps3 avoid it they're more prone to breaking down, I bought my OG from a buddy about two years ago and she's still running like an old F-150 STRONG.

It is said they are more prone because the CPU and GPU run a lot hotter than the newer. Anyway it is just about luck and the way the owner have been using it, like having pace for ventilation and so on. Anyway i would go with a brand-new one. I recently got a 320gb models and it runs great. You can't hear any louder high pitch noise like some of the 120gb systems.

If that 60 GB is a recent refurburbish from Sony, then chances our it has the new chips inside.

Get the 120GB. If you need more space it works out cheaper to buy a hard drive and swap them than to buy the 320GB. Plus you get another hard drive :P

Get the slim. You say you want to play PS2 games, but you won't do it enough. I just bought a slim after having my fatty die and I could care less about PS2 games. My favorite PS2 games are being made (or are already done) into PS3 games anyway.

Yeah get the slim , it's cuter(but bad a$$ at the same time:P) , smaller so it fits almost everywhere and it's eco friendly( or something like that:)) And as for PS2 games , you can play those on your ps2 , my cousin has his PSone PS2 and PS3 consoles all on the same TV(don't ask me how he does it:))

It all depends on how the used system was taken care of. I still have my 60 gig system that's running 24/7 without a problem other than some software glitches in some games.

The 120, 60 is just not enough for gaming. Even if you don't download clips, music 60 is not enough with so many games requiring installs.
