Nope. You need to put a PS1 memory card into your PS2 to save game progress in a PS1 game.

Are they hard to find?can anyone advise where I can purchase a PS1 memory card that will work on a PS2? cheersradiofc
read the rest of the thread. Ps1 cards dont work for ps2 games. They will only work for ps1 games. and in response to the where can I get ps1 memory cards now? question I dont really trust ebaywith bank details so I look for pre owned ones on amazon (if you are in uk make sure you purchase from .co.uk or they get pretty expensive from .com)as then certain people would accept cheque.

I did read the thread - my question was not whether the card would work with PS2 games but whether the PS1 card would work on a PS2 console that is playing a PS1 game - sorry if that wasn't clear. I'll check Amazon. Thanks.
