I'm proud to say that I've worked through the PS2 GTA games without any cheats. (This is due mostly to all the threats online, which stated that saved games with cheats on them caused memory errors and whatnot. At the time, I didn't have any backups tools for the Memory Cards and didn't want to risk it.) There have been some rough missions in the series, but I can say that I've conquered them all.
I have to say, the only mission I regret doing straight arrow was "The Driver" in Vice City. (In this mission, which I believe was optional, you had to race a guy named "Hillary" to prove yourself.) That mission boasted horrid design and programming, and it was a **** to complete. I'd never do it again unless I had CodeBreaker on my side; "The Driver" wasn't worth the frustration.

i thought there are only three of them: liberty city, vice city, and san andreas.baltimoreravens
no no there is GTA I [i think it is GTA London , GTA II [its been a long time since ive played this], GTA III liberty city, GTA Vice city [not GTA IV] and GTA San Andreas
I got to about 97% in both GTA:SA and GTA:VC without using any cheats. Pretty much all i have to do now is collect hidden packages, horseshoes, oysters and do unique jumps.
I've crushed GTA, GTA:VC, and GTA: SA without cheats.  All the old gta's I've never beat and the ones for the psp I will never get to play(not even if they get released on the ps2, I dont want to revisit old places).
Me, i beat all 4 GTA, and right now i going to find the 100 tag spray i get 84, and not cheat at all... is no point to use cheat....ill not be fun and desperated lol
I beat GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas without using any cheats. I see them more fun that way anyways. I haven't played Liberty City Stories or Vice City Stories yet, but I do plan on it very soon.
