Which game would you buy Splinter Cell or MGS

I only played the Metal Gear on the NES system, now am looking forward on getting "Sons of Liberty", plus i saw this game Splinter Cell Double Agent, that gets my attention...but which is a MUST buy?? and why??

 metal gear 3 is really great but Metal Gear solid will all ways be the best ;) :)

here we go again. anyway, i recommend mgs. mgs2 is my personal favorite game of all time.

But really, get MGS. Splinter Cell is good, but MGS wins hands down

Am currently waiting for my copy of MGS2 to arrive...i had splinter cell on my hands, but something about it, just doesn't make me want to buy it. Oh well! as far as this thread goes, MSG is a solid game, so no need to worry.

The Metal Gear Solid series is better than the splinter cell series ........... the splinter cell series is good ..... but the MGS series is much better .

I liked the way the action played out in Splinter Cell. Much more realistic, better controls, better graphics too. But MGS had a fantastic story line!

Splinter Cell if you want a more realistic, stealthy feel. MGS if you want a gripping, movie-like story line.

Just get them both! They both offer a different kind of experience. :P

You MUST get Sons of Liberty. I played Snake Eater and hated it, but then gave SOL a try because it was $5, and now MGS is my favorite series.

Metal gear solid.

Metal Gear Solid is far an away a better franchise than Splinter Cell.  Honestly, imo Splinter Cell has always been a cheesy knock-off of MGS which was the originator of the stealth action gameplay.  I'd recommend playing all of the big time MGS titles.
