no not at all. there are still some great games for the PS2 (GOW2 for example), and like the users above said, PS2 games have gotten cheaper. and even though "next gen" is here, i think the PS2 can still hold up for quite a while longer.
Not by a long shot. I just bought one a couple weeks ago and there are lots of great games for it. The ps3 is a joke in terms of price, ps2 is a much better deal.
Not in the slightest. For one thing, there are still games like Persona 3 due out later in the year, but even if there weren't, the PS2 has a massive backcatalogue. Depending on your tastes, there's likely to be at least a few games that you overlooked when they first came out, but turn out to be hidden gems or sleeper hits. They're usually worth hunting down, unless you're the sort of person who just can't bear to look at "outdated" graphics in light of what the next-gen is capable of. If so, I feel sorry for you.
yeah well and add to that the fact that right now ps3 games are not even worth picking up a ps3 for, all of a sudden holding on to your ps2 doesnt sound like that crazy an idea at all.
not at all. I'm going back and playing all the best games from this past generation now that the prices are down. I recently bought GOW 1+2, DMC 1-3, and Bully.
so no the ps2 still got some life left in it to keep it alive throughout this year and well into the next one, and knowing that the crazy jappanesse love the thing so much i wouldnt be surprised if they treat the ps2 like they're treating the dreamcast, they're still making games for the dreamcast over there if you can believe it, the dreamcast!
at this rate we'll be in 2010 and they'll still be making games for it, its almost kinda pathetic but its possible, mark my words!
Well, I dont consider it dead seeing all the new games coming out, but my friends aunt has already said they are gonna stop making games for it pretty soon. But the way the PS3 is goin, that would be suicide lol
