I can't plug in my Xbox 360 controller into my pc without the sound going all static and sounding terrible. I have to restart the computer with the controller unplugged for it the sound to go back to normal.

Any help would be great, right now I have to play my games with the sound turned off lol.

Ok thanks for not helping me at all.

There are some games I like to play with a keyboard, and some I like to play with a controller.

Start>Control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio, and change your default device back to you sound card off of xbox controller, Windows automatically reads the controller as a primary audio device

I have the same problem, I tried what halpaint17 suggested and no luck (the xbox360 controller doesn't appear in the audio devices). I also download the latest drivers from asus website and that still doesn't work for me (I use windows XP). Does anyone know whether this will be a problem for all usb controllers or just the xbox 360 one? I currently own the Madcatz one.

The problem is that CM6501 onboard sound from Asus motherboard conflicts with the xbox360 controller. My current version is 5.12.08.1803.
